Christina's Column - December 2009

Happy Holidays Everyone,
Wow! What a busy time of the year! On November 28,
I had the pleasure of performing at Jester's for the Miss
and MsTer Red Ribbon Pageant. I was accompanied by
Charnay Cassadine, Zia D'Yor, Diamond Rose, Stephanie
Richards, Gino Murano, Joseph James, Dominique Sanchez,
and Michael Lanning. The winner of the Miss Red Ribbon
was Cherity, with first alternate going to Marvella. The
winner of the MsTer Red Ribbon was Marco Delgatto.

December 1st was World AIDS Day, and I had the
opportunity to perform for the AIDS Benefit "Keep The
Hearts Beating", hosted by the U.A.L.R. Alliance at
Pulse Nightclub. December 20th marked the 23rd
anniversary of the H.P.W.A. Christmas Benefit Show.
I am so thankful that so many wonderful enterainers
showed up to perform. It is truly wonderful to see our
community come together for such a great cause.

The theme for Miss Gay Arkansas America 2010 will be "We Are What We Are" from
La Cage Aux Folles. All contestants will be required to wear a black cocktail dress
for the Opening Production. Also, this year the Solo Talent category will be required
at all City and State level pageants.

The Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant season will begin with the Miss Gay Little Rock
Pageant, which will be held on Sunday, February 14th at Pulse Nightclub. Any contestants
interested in competing may contact me at christinasaxton@comcast.net or you may
contact any member of the Arkansas Alumni Committee. Also, if you are interested in
promoting a city prelim or being involved with the Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant,
please contact myself of the Arkansas Alumni Committee.

In closing, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. It is hard to believe that 2009
is almost over! 2010, here we come!

Much love,
Christina Saxton
