Christina's Column - September 2009

Hello Everyone,
Miss Gay Arkansas America 2009 was incredible under the supervision
of Spencer May (Kelly Cruise) and Dennis Harris (Debbye Taunts). My
lifelong dream to be Miss Gay Arkansas America is here! How can I really
put into words the way I feel....I really can't. All I can say is do not ever
give up on your dreams and strive to be the best you can and will ever be.
All of you know its been my goal and dream to be Miss Gay Arkansas
America for so many years now. Well, finally I achieved that goal and I
have to say that it is a feeling I will never be able to describe.

I am so honored to be among the elite group of entertainers that have
been before me. Only 39 men in the state of Arkansas have had this honor
and I will be crowning the 40th Miss Gay Arkansas America one year from
now. I am your 39th Miss Gay Arkansas America, and this year we will
celebrate 39 years of excellence in the state of Arkansas. I am ready to
prove to Arkansas that after 17 years, I am your new Miss Gay Arkansas
America because I have what it takes!

I would like to give all of my love and respect to the contestants who were so wonderful, loving, helpful,
sweet and kind. I want to thank each and every one of you for your friendship and support over the years.
Both onstage and offstage we showed a true family and sisterhood of professional female impersonators.
You all were great and I know that each of you will be Miss Gay Arkansas America one day. I love each
and every contestant that competed: Felisha Winters, Mya Alexander, Charnay Iman Cassadine, Roxie
Starlight Wolfchase, Zia Dyor, Veronica Duvall, Deidra Windsor Walker, Diamond Rose, Makayla Blake,
Sasha Harrison, Leah Iman Devori and Brittney Paige. You all exemplify what the true art form of female
impersonation is all about.

I would also like to thank the former Miss Gay Arkansas America's for such a grand job this year: April Scott,
Dominique Sanchez, Raven St. James, Vicki Valentine, Missy Klein, Kamrin Mikaels, Megan Michaels, Alexis
LaRue and the lovely Stephanie Richards.

I also need to thank my dancers who helped me achieve my goal. Dorothy, James, Mark and Sean.... without
you guys I would not have this chance to show Arkansas what a Miss Gay Arkansas America could and will be.

Robbie Smith, you are my friend. As Patti says, “… and I've been looking around and you were always on my
mind!” A girl has got to love the support and friendship you have given me over the last 26 years. No one will
ever top that! You are a true drag slave and dear friend.

My hometown Fayetteville girls: Kitty, Liza, Olga, Trudy, Pennie and Barry... yes WE DID IT! All of you said that
there was dream with my name on it, and now I know that you all were right.

To my mom and friend, what can I say but I LOVE YOU and we really did it. You, of all people, know how hard
I have worked for this, and Momma McMickle.... it’s here.

May God bless the judges. Thank you for your time and the opportunity to be MISS GAY ARKANSAS AMERICA
2009. Yes, I Christina Saxton, after seventeen years, captured my dream of becoming Miss Gay Arkansas
America. There are so many more people I need to thank, but after 26 years of being a professional female
impersonator you only have so much room to place your friends on a page or letter and needless to say your
brain is a little gone. LOL. I don’t want to end without saying, THANK YOU, Arkansas, for all of your support and
friendship over the years.

All my love,

Christina Saxton
