Happy
New Year! 2008 is history and 2009 is opportunity knocking
on your door. I hope you have all made resolutions that will have
positive impacts on both your life and the lives of those around you.
I am so excited about this year that I am giddy. Hopefully, everyone
has recovered from the New Year’s festivities and is ready to begin
2009 fresh and full of hope and expectation.
I am so jazzed that I finally have a
MySpace page! Yes, Miss Richards
is finally a part of the 21st century. I have been amazed at how many
friends I have made over the years. Please check it out when you can.
I will be updating it regularly, once I’ve learned how.
I am very excited to be going to Fayetteville
and entertain Sunday,
February 1st at Club Xanadu. The last time I was there was with then
Miss Gay America, Mikaila Kay, Former Miss Arkansas America 2004,
Shanel Harrington, and Asia LaRue. The crowd rocked the walls with
their exhortations during the show. It was FABULOUS!
I attended the final Sunday night show at Backstreet December 28th. Although
the show was great, it
was a little sad because it represented the end of an era. That said, I am
happy to report that, beginning
January 10th, Backstreet will begin Saturday Night Shows! Former Miss Gay
Arkansas America 2006-2007,
Raven St. James will continue to be your show cast director and continue to
bring wonderful entertainers
to the stage. Please note that some Miss Gay Arkansas America preliminary
pageants and benefit shows
will continue to be held on Sunday nights at Backstreet, so be sure to keep
an eye out for those advertised
dates!
I am excited that interest in the Miss
Gay America system seems to be increasing, and I understand that
many of you will be competing in more than one system. I think this is GREAT!
This will provide you with
even more opportunities to bring your package before judges, who can help
you to identify your strengths
and to be the best that you can be.
So far, we have set dates for Miss Little
Rock and Miss Hot Springs. As a former Miss Little Rock, and your
current Miss Hot Springs, I am super excited that these are already on the
schedule. I fully expect many
more to be scheduling their dates soon and will keep you posted, so that you
can plan to compete or attend.
