Dear
Readers:
Well, as you can imagine, I am working
my fingers to the bone
getting everything prepared for Miss Gay Arkansas America 2009.
I hope that I will see you there.
We had six contestants qualify to compete at Miss Gay Arkansas
America 2009 this month. Congratulations to Brittney Paige, winner,
and Diamond Rose, 1st Alternate, for Miss Central Arkansas.
Congratulations also go out to Christina Saxton, winner, and Leah
Aliza’, 1st Alternate for Miss U.B.U. Emeritus. Also, special thanks
to Miss Diedra Windsor Walker, promoter for the Miss U.B.U. Emeritus
preliminary for doing such a great job promoting your pageant as well
as competing in the system. I am also excited to announce that both
Felisha Winters and Makayla Blake will be competing and representing
Miss Gay Northwest.
I hope you are all putting the finishing touches on your package.
Remember, this is the time when we need to be extra nice to those around us
so that they continue
to be willing to help us and not contemptuous. Try to stay positive and look
for every opportunity to
improve your package. Remember, you are not competing against anyone but yourself,
so do not worry
about what others are bringing. There is nothing you can do to control what
someone else prepares, but
worrying about it takes up valuable time and increases your level of anxiety.
Bring the best package that
you can bring. Be as prepared as possible, and plan for issues to arise, that
way they will not be a surprise
when they do. Pack a pair of house slippers for comfort, a tic-tac for some
fresh breath, and other things
you might need, such as needle and thread.
I hope that I have had a positive influence on each of you. I hope that I
have been there for you when
necessary, and that I have provided the proper guidance in the proper manner.
I have truly enjoyed
being your Miss Gay Arkansas America 2008, and will cherish those memories
we created forever.
