The Richards Report - May 2009

Dear Readers:
Richards Report for May:
Well, May is almost over! I cannot believe how fast this year is moving! It seems like
every time I spin around on my high heels, another month has passed and I am filing
my monthly report.

First, I would like to congratulate Mike Brown and The Rev Room on another successful
pageant! Mother Nature was NOT our friend that night as we battled heavy rains and
flooding just to get to the door. A huge thank you to all of you who came out to Miss
Rev Room! I had a great time working with Kelly Cruise, April Scott, Kamrin Mikaels,
Megan Michaels, and Sasha Harrison. Congratulations to Miss Veronica DuVall, who was
crowned Miss Rev Room 2009, and her 1st alternate Miss Roxy Starlite Wolfchase! You
both looked amazing and did a great job! I hope to see you opening for some bands this
year; I think that would be a blast! Melody Galore, you were so sweet to park my car and
get yourself drenched. Thank you so much!

We also held Miss Spa City this May. Miss Kamrin Mikaels, Miss Krystal Marie Love, and
Lizzie Gray did a great job putting on this preliminary. Christina Saxton came directly
from competing at Miss USofA to give up her crown and did a lovely job! Congratulations go out to Zia D’yor, our new
Miss Spa City 2009, and Miss Tessa Martinez, who qualified as her 1st alternate. Both of you looked beautiful and brought
your “A” game to the competition! As a side note, Jamie, aka Erika Paige, has returned to Little Rock and I am so happy
that we will be getting to see my sister on a regular basis! If you’ve been to a Miss Arkansas America state pageant,
you’ve likely heard that voice.

Otherwise, I kept busy performing, judging, and entertaining around the state. I also managed to go to Dallas to support
former Miss Gay Arkansas America, Miss Alexis Larue, who did a beautiful job of competing at Miss USofA Classic, making
it into finals night! I always speak of experience and how very important it is, and these competitors fully reinforced that.
Additionally, we should all be proud of Dominique Sanchez, who placed in the top 5 at Miss USofA.

Contestants, I hope that you are still planning to compete. I expect to add at least 2 more preliminaries in the coming
weeks so do not think that your chance has passed. I cannot put into words the wonderful experience that being Miss
Gay Arkansas America has been and hope that each and every one of you can join in that experience with me. I will say
that while it has not been easy, it is certainly worth the time, effort, and frustrations that have had to be overcome.

Honored to be your Miss Gay Arkansas America 2009,

Todd B. Stiedle aka Stephanie Richards
