The Richards Report - October 2008

Hello Everyone,
I am back from Miss Gay America in St. Louis and I wanted to let everyone know that I had a wonderful time! I was fortunate enough to meet many great entertainers and promoters, and a host of incredibly sweet people.
I was also fortunate enough to have won the solo talent competition in my group; so that was the icing on the cake for me!

I want to congratulate all of the Arkansas entertainers who competed at Miss Gay America and to extend my congratulations to them on their performances, professionalism, and perseverance. Arkansas was well represented and regardless of the final standings, every contestant competing at Miss Gay America is a WINNER! The America system is the premier system for female impersonation and just getting to compete on
a national level is an accomplishment and an honor.

As most of you know, Victoria DePaula is our new Miss Gay America, and I am very excited to have been there to see him crowned. I hope that he will get to come to Arkansas soon so that he can experience the fine southern hospitality this state is famous for.

And speaking of hospitality, I would like to commend Connie Jo Smith, DeeDee Enz, Dair Smith aka LuLu Le’Dair, DK Entertainment aka Alexis LaRue and Ken Pearson, and Michael Holland aka Megan Michaels for sponsoring the Saturday night cocktail party for the contestants, promoters, and sponsors. Everything was lovely and St. Louis was well aware that Arkansas was in the house!

I also want to congratulate Mikaila Kay on her reign. He did a beautiful job of upholding the symbol of excellence and will make a fine former. I expect we will see much more of Mikaila in the years to come. During the competition, he was always available to help each and every one of us be the very best that we could be.

I also must thank the wonderful sisterhood that the former Miss Arkansas Americas have become. I know that all the formers were not able to attend, but your spirit and support was with me. As for the ones who were in attendance, you guys really outdid yourself in making sure that we were on time, and ready to compete. I could not have chosen a better group to be associated with! Arkansas Alumni Productions certainly deserved the Best Venue award!

Although I had a wonderful time, I am so glad to be home amongst friends and family. I am anxious to see all of you and to share of my experience, and to hear what your plans are for Miss Gay Arkansas America 2009, where I will have the honor of crowning my successor!

With much affection,

Todd B. Stiedle aka Stephanie Richards
