"Hey LeMay" here... "April Showers Bring May Flowers" as preliminary pageants are blossoming all over our state. Please review the schedule for upcoming dates, locations and times of the next several events!
Congratulations to Anita Mann for winning Miss Gay Sweetheart and Beulah Mae Harrison for placing 1stAlternate. You can watch both of these ladies compete in September for Miss Gay Arkansas. We thank Grant Stewart for his hard work promoting this preliminary!
"LeMay's Limelight" continues to shine bright on a few more of our extraordinary promoters and stakeholders of the MGAR family. We would like to honor some of our veterans this month, and we begin with:
Chris Davis a.k.a. Savvy Savant, Forever MGAR '22 and Miss Gay Little Rock promoter. During Savvy's reign, city preliminaries were reinstated post-COVID. Savvy is also the former promoter for Miss Gay Central Arkansas, then took over for Ken Brown last year for Miss Gay Little Rock. Personally for me, being crowned in 1989 then again in 2024 was an amazing experience, especially to have two excellent promoters and exceptional sponsorship for state finals. Whoever wins MGLR '25 will definitely have one of the best support teams statewide.
Terri Lambert, the Miss Gay Hot Springs promoter, is the "Heart of the MGAR Family." She is fully dedicated and loyal to supporting not only her own contestants, but is also always there for other stakeholders. She is benevolent in sharing her photography skills for all of the pageants, shows and events, etc... Terri is an authentically genuine example of being a team player! She's always at other city preliminaries to show her fellow stakeholders support!
Joseph Clark, Miss Gay Capital City promoter and Triniti/Discovery Nightclub's personality. It has been my absolute pleasure working with him at pageants and shows. Joseph is a talented DJ and well-skilled in prop building and set design. Team Arkansas was very fortunate with all of his hard work towards MGA preparations. His charismatic demeanor and sense of humor always helps the contestants and showcast and encourages is to have fun, relax, and enjoy the moment.
We Salute all of our promoters for their dedication, loyalty, and team spirit. All those contestants seeking to qualify for state finals would be fortunate to have any of the stakeholders mentioned above as a sponsor. I'm most appreciative to each and every one of our promoters, as even after capturing the MGAR crown they all came together to support Team Arkansas at Nationals. This is what makes the Arkansas Family a "For Real" family. We all compete at different preliminaries of our choice. However, at the end of the day we all come together to remind ourselves this is why we are the longest running MGA state preliminary, home to four Forever MGAs including the first, our Beloved Norma Kristie (Norman Jones).
Let's keep the legacy going....that's all for now!
Please refer to the Miss Gay Arkansas America website for appearances, preliminaries, events etc...
Luv Y'all,
Auntie Coppa
