Vanessa's December Newsletter

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope that each of you had a terrific Thanksgiving. As we are now in December there is so much to do, and we have much to catch up on.

November was filled with many events, activities, and planning. We kicked off the month celebrating Ella Rosa and her accomplishments at the C4 Nightclub & Lounge Benefit Show for Miss Gay America 2024. Thank you to the owner, Jamie Wilson, and all of those who donated their time and joined us for a spectacular celebration. That same weekend I was off to Eureka Springs Diversity weekend.

First up at Diversity weekend was a charity event at The Gravel Bar with many Miss Gay Arkansas sisters and my very own MGAR Class 2023 sister, Monica Savant. This event was hosted by Patti Le Plae Safe and she brought several states together for one special event to start the weekend. This was just the beginning of a very long day on the job! From one event to the next, and that was Drag in the Park with Giselle Monae and Miss Gay Oklahoma America, Kiana Davenport Jade. This was a very special moment as for both 2022 and 2023 Miss Gay Oklahoma and Miss Gay Arkansas met for the first time and friendships blossomed. Following Drag in the Park it was time for tennis shoes, a long walk, and a make-up touch up for Drag Bingo at Brew’s. This was my first Eureka Diversity Weekend and I enjoyed every moment and step of it--Literally…every step…if you know you know! It is an event I highly recommend and as a foody I have to give the highest praise to So Good Kitchen and the Gizzy Wrap, named after Giselle Monae! Following the long work day it was off to Eureka Live and showing support to our Arkansas venues and entertainers. Eureka Live and Blaze Duvall put on a great show and make a warm welcome for all of those attending.

The following weeks I was able to come home to Club Kinkead’s and be with family and friends. I hosted my weekly show, Vanessa’s Dragged Out Thursday and crowned our Season 3 Talent Night Winner of Winners, Audacity Twinx. If you are ever in the Ft. Smith area, come see us at Club Kinkead’s. Live Bands/Wings on Wednesday and Drag Thursday – Sunday. During these next few weeks Triniti Nightclub hosted a benefit alongside Forever MGAR sisters and the Triniti cast. It was a night filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of advice and stories to help Ella and myself on the journey to MGA. As we approached Thanksgiving it was time for a break and I had the week off for the first time since September. I was able to spend time with my family and my partner, while celebrating life’s successes together.

As we head into December I want to take the time to update you on things that are coming up. Preliminaries for the 2024 Season are well underway in the planning stages and we will be releasing dates soon. Now that those things are taken care of I am able to focus alongside my team and prepare for MGA. At this time, I am registered, the hotel is booked, and things are right on track. I am so excited to share with you all what has been brewing in the MGAR house. Ella Rosa and myself would like to invite you to tune in on December 16th on Facebook Live for the 2024 Miss Gay America Contestant drawing and join us at Club Kinkead’s on December 22nd for our last benefit to help get us to Miss Gay America.
